Vasyl Lomachenko – world sport’s superstar.
Lomachenko was coached by his father Anatoly from a young age. First fight in amateur ring Vasyl spent in 1994 at the age of 6 years. In 16 he won Ukraine amateur Championship (U-16) and won the gold medal of European Amateur Boxing Championship (U-16). Also Vasyl was named a best boxer of this competition. In 2005 Lomachenko became the winner of adult Ukraine Championship.
Lomachenko won gold at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China. Lomachenko beat his five opponents by an astonishing 58-13 on the way to his first gold medal, and was subsequently named the outstanding boxer for the tournament and awarded the Val Barker Trophy.
In 2012 London Olympics he won his second consecutive Gold Medal. He defeated Han Soon-Chul of South Korea in the final by 19-9.
Lomachenko finished his amateur career with an impressive career record of 396 wins and only one loss, to Albert Selimov, which was avenged twice.
After victory over Garry Russel in his just 3rd pro-fight, Lomachenko joined Saensak Muangsurin as the only other boxer to have won a world title in the quickest amount of time since turning professional.
After it Lomachenko confidently won 8 straight fights. In December 2017, after a crushing victory over Guilherme Rigondeaux, was recognized as the best boxer of the year by the ESPN, by «The Ring magazine» and the HBO television channel.

In May 2018 Lomachenko was named the «Boxer of the Year» by Boxing Writers Association of America's, BWAA.

In May 2018, Lomachenko survived a knockdown in round 6 in fight VS Jorge Linares, to win via TKO in round 10 after a perfectly placed liver shot to claim the WBA (Super) and The Ring lightweight titles. In doing so he became the fastest fighter ever to win titles in 3 different weight classes (only 12 professional fights) shattering the previous record of 20 fights.
